"What is a technique you used in your artwork that worked well?" - One thing that I thing worked really well for me was the use of water color paints. I saw the original picture on tumblr and really liked it. So I tried to recreate it with a less pigmented look so I used water colors, which I work really well with. This is one of my favorite projects. "Sketchbook: pick any warm-up from your sketchbook that you found beneficial, interesting or simply felt you handled well" - I really liked this warmup because it forced me to incorporate parts of nature into art, which I really enjoyed. I think my idea was very creative, but this warmup challenged me the most. "Choose a place or artwork where the subject matter reflects you as an artist. One that you have a personal connection to. Please explain." - This drawing reflects me as an artist because it captures my use of detail and my self expression. Palm trees are my favorite plant and I wanted to make it look leisurely so I added a hammock too. Defiantly one of my favorite pieces for that exact reason. " Do over: If given the opportunity, which project would you do over? Describe why and how you would redo this project. Reasons might include choosing a different theme, using a different medium or creating a different idea completely. Include photo." - I would redo this project because I really don't like how I did the brush, mainly the shading. I wish I would have added better details to it. Also I wasn't really sure why I chose a paintbrush, I wish I would have picked something a little better. I also don't think I work with charcoal very well either.

I didn't really make any plans for this project, I went on Pinterest for some inspiration, which you can locate under a folder with my name. I like to do art in an impulisive way, not really sit around and think about what I'm doing, just do it. My first project was a weaving. It took me about 3 weeks to weave a 5 inch piece onfortunately. The colors were baby blue, soft brown, and creame. I then stitched my moms initials in black in the weaving so she can hang it on the wall. The hardest part was mental indurance, and I like how it turned out. My second project was aesthetic artwork. I went with the light tint to both of my pieces and went for a black picture on both of them. I really like how they turned out, because they will look really good beside each other in a black frame, and these were pretty easy for me to do. |
