My piece is incorporating the words waffle, and morning time. My first layer is different blues and pinks paper mâché. I printed off a picture of a waffle and used gel medium to apply that. I cut out letters and pictures from magazines to add the title to my piece. One of my other layers was the glitter I applied to the edges of the bottle. I decided to add strings on top of the blue to give it a 3-D effect. Lastly I used sponge and the roller on the bottom to add more differnt pinks and reds. Here's the link to mine: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PXfxxm9O1QE I worked with Michael, James and Avery on this project. First, each of us created a little monster creature. Then some of us took pictures(mainly James/ Avery), adjusted the characters (me), changed the scene and got props (Avery, Michael), and edited (me). The video turned out really well, but I was dumb enough to let James post the video, so I'm pretty sure he posted the video without sound. Basically the movie looks really dumb without the music because it made it more funny, so that sucked. My limitation for this project was to only use cotton swabs as my untincils for painting. This was very challenging taking into account the vast amount of details I wanted to add to the waves. I ended up using plaster to give them a 3-D effect and I really liked how that turned out. I would have blended better and made the colors for the boats better but that's okay. One thing I learned from this lesson would be a way to combine 3-D tangible objects into a drawing. another thing I really liked about this project was the way we combinednature and art. If I could change anything I would add more detail to the Lions face. My two in one was an octopus and Palm tree. As I'm sure you already know, I adore the ocean and it's creatures, like an octopus for instance so that inspired me mainly. I chose to use water color as my medium because I love how the colors blend so lightly and convey a soft look to what would have been a fairly rough thing to draw. If I were to change anything about my piece I would change the sunset behind the tree, because it doesn't fade right. I would say the most successful thing about my piece would be the way I blended the leaves and the octopus tentacles. |
